Getting bigger, growing impatient

At 29 weeks, I am officially big. My belly dwarfs Camel's Hump!

I spent March and the first part of April feeling pretty tired and moody. It's hard being out in the world when you are feeling so overly sensitive to everything. Recently, though, I've been feeling much better - much more energy, and more calm and happy. I've been trying to keep up with exercise and eat more protein, and I think it's helping.

So what about the house? Charles sees my growing belly and it's making him increasingly stressed, because we haven't started building the house yet. At this point, we have the town building permit and the money (got approved for a loan), but we are still waiting to receive a state wastewater permit. Charles sized the septic system to accommodate a 3-bedroom house when he built it in 2003, but the state changed the rules in 2007, so now we need an additional permit that he didn't know about until the last minute. So we're waiting for that, but the wait is frustrating. In the meantime, he's cleared the site and we're trying to settle on plans for the insulation system and windows.

I think we'll both feel better once he is able to start the construction. In the meantime, we've gotten the tiny house that we live in now (480 sq. ft. - it is truly tiny) set up as best we can, and it's actually pretty comfortable and cozy.

Little Oops (that's what we call the baby for now - our happy little Oops) is kicking now. Yesterday, we went for a springtime kayak trip to Kingsland Bay State Park, on Lake Champlain, and she's been really active ever since. I think she likes paddling!
